HNK2 – COATING
HNK2 is a Cobalt-Nickel alloy coating with excellent wear resistance property. Cobalt-Nickel alloy coating was first introduced in Japan in 1995 by Mishima Kosan and is now more or less the industry standard in Japan. HNK2 has been introduced in AMT in August 2015.

HNK2 - Elongation Properties
The elongation is improved more than twice compared to conventional Ni plating. It is expected to be able to suppress the occurrence of cracks at the meniscus area.
HNK2 – Softening Property

The hardness of HNK2 does not drop even when it is subjected to temperature of 600° C. This is a unique property of HNK2 as compared to Ni and Ni alloy coating and one of the reasons why HNK2 coating has high wear resistance.
HNK2 – Wear Resistance
Wear resistance of HNK2 coating is more than 5 times as compared to Ni coating with excellent wear resistance even at elevated temperatures. Wear amount of HNK2 coating is very small and is around one-third compared to that of Ni coating. Configuration of the wear of HNK2 coating shows a smooth worn surface because of its low friction coefficient. Also it doesn’t become adhesive wear like Ni plating that shows rough surface which has concavity and convexity.
HNK2 – High corrosion resistance
HNK2 offers high corrosion resistance as a countermeasure against corrosion on lower part of copper plate.
